-Anaerobic metabolism
is the creation of energy through the combustion of carbohydrates in the absence of oxygen. This occurs when your lungs cannot put enough oxygen into the bloodstream to keep up with the demands of your muscles for energy
-Aerobic metabolism
is the way your body creates energy through the combustion of carbohydrates, amino acids, and fats in the presence of oxygen. Combustion means burning, which is why this is called burning sugars, fats, and proteins for energy.
When is one or another metabolism used? give examples of physical activities where energy from aerobic metabolism is obtained
ReplyDeleteWhat are the advantages of anaerobic metabolism over aerobic metabolism?Explain them.
What waste substances generate both metabolism? Is any of these substances harmful to the body? Why?
ReplyDeleteAerobic and anaerobic metabolism, which means oxygen and oxygen respectively.
Examples of aerobic exercises:Hikes, Trots, Dances, Tennis and Swimming.
Examples of anaerobic exercises: Weightlifting, Abdominals, sprints, Medical ball toss and box jumps
With aerobic exercises, we force the body to use energy through the circuit of the oxidation of carbohydrates and fats
In contrast, anaerobic exercises do not require oxygen, as they go to alternative processes of obtaining energy, such as the fermentation of lactic acid or the use of muscle ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
-What are the advantages of anaerobic metabolism over aerobic metabolism? Explain them.
Advantages of Aerobic Respiration. A major advantage of aerobic respiration is the amount of energy it releases. Without oxygen, organisms can split glucose into just two molecules of pyruvate. This releases only enough energy to make two ATP molecules.
What waste substances generate both metabolism? Is it any of these harmful substances to the body? Why?
These are known as metabolism. These chemical reactions produce waste products such as carbon dioxide, water, salts, urea and uric acid. Accumulation of these wastes beyond a level inside the body is harmful to the body. The excretory organs remove these wastes.
